What is it

  • The Thai Tourist visa is for people who want to come to Thailand for sightseeing and other recreational purposes.
  • The visa is given for a period of 90 days and cannot be extended without leaving the country first.

Qualifications

This visa is for any person who can show they are not a public or national security threat, has enough funds for travel, and is coming to Thailand for sightseeing and recreational purposes.

Documentation

  • Passport or travel document with validity not less than 6 months.
  • Passport size (2×2) Photos of the applicant, taken within the past six months.
  • Flight Confirmation or reservation showing travel arrangements to and from Thailand.
  • Recent Bank Statement.
    • $700 per person:
      • Bank Statement
    • $1500 per Family:
      • Bank Statement
      • Proof of Relationship for each family member
  • Details of accommodation in Thailand
  • Travel Booking confirmation
  • Health Insurance Policy Certificate covering all expenditures of medical treatments including COVID-19 worth at least 100,000 USD
  • Self Employed –
    • Business License or,
    • Business Registration
  • For Minor under 20 years
    • Notarized copy of a birth certificate; and
    • Notarized copy of marriage certificate.
  • Sole Custody
    • Notarized copy or original of mother and father/ legal guardian’s passports or ID; and
    • Original letter of notarized consent from mother and father/ legal guardian for the minor to travel abroad.
  • Non-US Citizen
    • a copy of permanent resident card (green card); or
    • a valid US visa with a letter proof of employment, or a letter proof of full-time student status.
  • All Documents must be in English. If the document is not in English, it must be accompanied by a certified translation.

How to Apply

  • Prepare Application Form
  • Submit application form and the required documents to the Thai embassy or consulate in the applicant’s home country by mail or in person.
  • Pay the fee (cash, check, or by credit card)
  • Wait for notification by the Thai Embassy or for it to come in the mail. The processing time usually takes 5 to 10 business days.
