COVID Thailand Entry Requirements

What you need to enter Thailand:

  • Vaccine certificate, either a printout or the original document (Only for vaccinated travelers)
    • AZD1222 by AstraZeneca/Oxford University (2 doses)
    • SARS-CoV-2 (CoronaVac) by Sinovac (2 doses)
    • BNT162b2/CORMIRNATY – Tozinameran by Pfizer/BioNTech (2 doses)
    • Covishield (ChAdOx1_nCoV19) by the Serum Institute of India (2 doses)
    • Ad26.COV2.S by the Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson & Johnson (1 dose)
    • mRNA-1273 by Moderna (2 doses)
    • Sinopharm (2 doses)
  • Thailand Pass Application Form
  • COVID-19 travel insurance with a minimum coverage of $50,000 USD
  • Booking confirmation for an ASQ or SHA+ Hotel
  • COVID-19 test taken no more than 72 hours before departure
Test and Go Program

Conditions: (For Non-Thai Nationals)

  • Travel from a port of departure in eligible country / territory and have stayed in eligible countries / territories for at least 21 consecutive days see list of eligible countries / territories
  • Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 no less than 14 days before travelling
  • Insurance with minimum coverage of 50,000 USD
  • No quarantine, but need fully paid reservation at SHA Extra+/AQ hotel for Day 1 and Day 5
    • – Day-1 reservation must expressly include airport pick-up and one RT-PCR test
    • – Day-5 reservation must expressly include one RT-PCR test
    • – Travellers may book two different hotels located in two different provinces.
    • – Travellers must stay at the hotel while waiting for the results of RT-PCR tests taken on Day 1 and Day 5.
    • – Those who will stay in Thailand for less than 5 days (including those who will depart from Thailand on Day 5) does not need to present Day-5 reservation, BUT must have plane ticket reservation showing departure details.
    • – Those who originally plan to stay in Thailand for less than 5 days, but later change their minds to stay longer, MUST make additional reservation for Day 5, inclusive of one RT-PCR test.

  • Obtain a negative COVID-19 test result (RT-PCR), issued within 72 hours before travelling
    • – RT-PCR result must be negative or not detected
    • – If RT-PCR result is positive or detected then medical certificate proof of COVID recovery at least 14 days but less than 90 days from onset or first date of detection is required

Sandbox Programs

Full doses of vaccine must be completed not less than 14 days prior to traveling to Thailand. Self-quarantine is not allowed.

Conditions:
  • International travelers entering the four sandbox areas (Phuket, Krabi, Phang Nga, Surat Thani (Koh Samui, Koh Pha Ngan, Koh Tao)) are able to travel within these four areas in the first 7 days of stay in the country.
  • Travellers from any country / territory. Stay in Sandbox area for 7 days before being permitted to travel to other parts of Thailand.
  • Current Sandbox areas include Phuket, Krabi, Phan-Nga and Surat Thani (Koh Samui, Koh Tao and Koh Phangan).
  • Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 no less than 14 days before travelling
  • Pre-paid 7 days SHA Extra+ / AQ hotel reservation confirmation including the fee for 2 RT-PCR tests (www.thailandpsas.com) and airport pick-up.
    • – Approved List: SHA Extra+ or AQ hotel (Please be advised to avoid making hotel reservations through Booking.com as they do not fully comply with Thailand’s entry regulations and may result in delayed consideration)
  • Obtain a negative COVID-19 test result (RT-PCR), issued within 72 hours before travelling
    • – RT-PCR result must be negative or not detected
    • – If RT-PCR result is positive or detected then medical certificate proof of COVID recovery at least 14 days but less than 90 days from onset or first date of detection is required
Documents:
  • Passport
  • Thai Visa (if required)
  • Certificate of Vaccination
  • Paid SHA Extra+ or AQ hotel reservation confirmation throughout the 7 days period (including the fee for 2 RT-PCR tests) and airport pick-up.
  • Proof of a confirmed payment for 2 RT-PCR tests, which can be reserved via www.thailandpsas.com (Day 0/1 and Day 5/6).
  • Insurance with minimum coverage of 50,000 USD
3. Alternative Quarantine
Conditions:
  • Travellers from any country / territory. Stay in quarantine for 7/10 days and will be able to travel in Thailand thereafter
  • Full vaccination is not required under this scheme
  • Booking for 7/10 days on approved AQ hotel. Approved List: AQ Hotel
Documents:
  • Passport
  • Thai Visa (if required)
  • Paid AQ hotel reservation confirmation (fully paid or deposit at least 15,000 THB / 500 USD) (including the fee for two RT-PCR tests)
  • Insurance with minimum coverage of 50,000 USD
Visa to Thailand

Attention: For Medical visas scheme (Tourist MT or Non Immigrant – O), the applicants are strictly advised to contact the Royal Thai Embassy/Consulate General for authorization prior to their e-Visa application submission. Any unauthorized application submission under Medical visas scheme would be rejected and non-refundable.

Attention: From 26 September 2021, 11.00 PM (UTC), it is no longer required for e-Visa applicant to submit his/her passport and original supporting documents in person at the Royal Thai Embassy/Consulate. After the e-Visa application has been approved, a confirmation e-mail will be sent to applicants. It is kindly requested to print a copy of the confirmation e-mail to present to airline and Thai Immigration officials to carry out checks when travelling to Thailand.
